Universal Studios Japan
According to the Global Theme Attraction Visitor Report, Universal Studios Japan had 14,500,000 visitors in 2019. The park is located in Osaka, Japan, and was jointly built by Universal Pictures, the Osaka City Government and several Japanese companies over a period of more than two years. The park includes 10 parks, and the highly anticipated "Super Nintendo World" was postponed to March 18 this year due to the epidemic. The most popular one is "The Magical World of Harry Potter", followed by "Minions Park" and "Jurassic Park". There are 5 Universal Studios in the world, located in Orlando, California, USA, Osaka, Japan, Singapore, and Beijing, China (under construction). Universal Studios Japan is not as large as Orlando, but like many amusement projects, some individual projects are unique, such as the Great White Shark theme and the newly opened Super Nintendo World. Japan also has a richer variety of products and better services.
Tokyo DisneySea
Tokyo DisneySea had 14,650,000 visitors in 2019. The park is located in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, covers an area of 49 hectares, and is the only theme park not directly operated by Disney. The park was originally planned to be built as a movie studio-type theme park, but after evaluation, the theme was changed to "Ocean". This is also the first theme park of Disney. The park includes 7 harbor theme areas, mainly targeting older children and adults, and the project is as stimulating as Universal Studios. The crowdedness of the park has caused the satisfaction of the park to continue to decline from the first place. In order to meet the needs of tourists, the park plans to invest 250 billion yen to expand the area by 20%, including the three major themes of "Frozen", "Tangled" and "Peter Pan" and a resort hotel.
Tokyo Disneyland
Tokyo Disneyland had 17,910,000 visitors in 2019. The park is located in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, covers an area of 51 hectares. It was built by Disney and Japan Azusa Design Company. It is Disney's first overseas Disneyland. Disney originally planned to replicate the Magic Kingdom of Disney in the United States 1:1, but after 36 years of expansion and reconstruction, the park has already had its own unique style. The park contains 7 theme areas, the overall project is less stimulating, most facilities have no age restrictions, the scenes are more dreamy, and are suitable for all ages. Tokyo Disney has been profitable almost every year since its opening in 1982, which is inseparable from the development strategy formulated by the operator Oriental Land Park and Japan's attention to copyright awareness.
Disneyland (California)
In 2019, the number of visitors to California Disneyland was 18,666,000. The park is located in California, USA, covering an area of 52.4 hectares. It is the world's first Disneyland and the only one designed and founded by Walt Disney himself. It is called the "Original Disneyland" by Disney fans. Since 2008, the park has been the second most visited theme park in the world. The park contains 9 theme areas and is a family-friendly park suitable for adults and children to experience together. The biggest difference between this park and other parks is that it has two projects: a "real submarine" that can sail underwater and a "Swiss Snow Mountain" that can be climbed and has a snow monster inside.
Disney Magic Kingdom
The number of visitors to Disney Magic Kingdom in 2019 was 20,963,000. Located in Florida, the park covers an area of 53 hectares. It is the first classic Disneyland of the Magic Kingdom type in the United States and is known as "the most magical kingdom in the world". Since 2008, it has become the most visited theme park in the world and is also the blueprint for other non-US Disney parks. The layout and amusement facilities of the Magic Kingdom are similar to those of Disneyland in California, but the area is larger and the attractions are sparser. The park contains 7 theme areas and 48 attractions, most of which are built for children, so it has become the first choice for many families. Since its opening in 1971, the park has only been closed 9 times due to hurricanes and the new crown epidemic.
